Extruders

The extruder is an essential part of any recycling system; it is made up of a cylinder, screw, a variable-speed electric motor and a reduction gear. The screw is the heart of the machine and the system specifications depend on its geometry. The diameter and pitch of the screw vary according to the type of material to be recycled: its shape is fundamental for the productivity and quality of the end product. The machine is also equipped with degassing chambers to encourage the expulsion of gases produced by the melted plastic, which avoids granule defects such as “air bubbles”. The two factors determining granule quality are good degassing to eliminate the gas produced during extrusion and a constant flow of material from the extruder to the cutting system.
