Recycling of biodegradable plastics: recycling lines for bioplastics

Biodegradable plastics started to be developed in the early ’90s, initially by adding corn starch to the plastic materials.

Gamma Meccanica S.p.A. began in those years the manufacturing of the first machine to recover this type of biodegradable plastics.

Today this material has become very popular, so much that we wish to remind our customers that Gamma Meccanica S.p.A. has been the first company to process these materials, not least the PLA, mainly used in the packaging sector.

Gamma Meccanica S.p.A. has worked for years with manufacturers of biodegradable materials to develop lines more and more advanced, using the expertise and collaboration of industry experts.

The acquired know-how has enabled the company to be a leader in the recovery of biodegradable plastics.

For instance, the recycling of PLA, that is a part of biodegradable plastics, is a big challenge since, if not properly recycled, this material degrades and is no longer suitable for reuse.

For this purpose, Gamma Meccanica S.p.A. has developed recycling lines GM 90 and GM 105, that are the most requested for the recovery of production waste. The results have fully met the needs of customers using these lines.
